1996 Discovery, What to expect ?

    Good day all Landy owners.

I have a 1996 Landrover Discovery V8i that feels dead, it has already been
to Savoy Landrover for a tune up "not happy" and then to Caltek who did the
rest of the tune up changing the plugs once again and this costing me a
total of R4000. It has been serviced and they say that compression is
correct as well as fuel pressure and checked on a error code reader and
new leads and distributor cap as well as a 40KV coil installed. It has a
    Power flow S/S exhaust.

Does not keep it's speed uphill say at 120 k/h in 5th, I gather because
revs are to low, therefore I use 4th, but cannot accelerate much with foot
flat at this speed and 3rd just revs much to high.
Is this what I should expect from a 3.9L V8i Discovery?

Could the cam timing possibly be a tooth out or would the motor run worse?
    It does idle smoothly though.
The ignition timing is 4 degrees BTDC, is this correct for South Africa ?
Our octain has changed from 98 leaded to 95 unleaded.

I want my Disco Nippy and fast ?
