Freelander Noise(s) From The Rear Of The Vehicle

    Hello to all !!

    I am after a bit of help/info !!

I have a 2000 (W-reg) Land Rover Freelander XEi 5-door 1.8i 16v (with Hill Descent) that I have just recently purchased. I have noticed a strange THUD noise form the rear of the vehicle if I accelerate hard (not too hard though !) PLEASE does someone know what this THUD noise can be ?

It sounds like there is something in the boot (which there isnt) banging against the body !! I have checked the spare wheel and there is no movement there on the wheel.

Also, if I put the car on full-lock (either way) and drive slowly there is a noise coming from the rear wheel like a grinding noise the only thing I can compare it to is when you push bike chain comes off and you are still pedling. Please could someone help me with these problems ?

I purchased a warrenty with the car when I bought it but, I cant use it untill amonth has passed !!

Please Could Someone Help ME ?

    Thank YOU.

Re: Freelander Noise(s) From The Rear Of The Vehicle

the noise on the rear is the rubber mounting on the front of the rear differential. it is a common problem, and i have changed quite a few, they are not expensive, and are simple to fit.
